We've successfully added the Aion Public Test Servers to our status list.
As with all servers, you can create an email alert for these new test servers, and can follow the updates using our @aionalerts Twitter account. However, we will not be enabling these servers through our API - we simply think it's not necessary to do so.
For more information about the Aion Public Test Servers, read this week's 'Eye on Community' dated 2010.04.23.

After last weeks introduction of the shoutbox, we've had to make some major amendments. The major update is the necessity of registering a user account to post.
Another update we've made is the individual servers pages, which can be accessed via the 'Servers' menu.
And finally, server updates are now posted to @aionalerts, so make sure to follow us!
As always, any problems encountered, please let us know!

Today we saw the shoutbox get used for the first time. Unfortunately, we discovered a few issues that caused problems, notably spammers.
We have therefore decided to force user registration if you want to use the shoutbox. This will protect users from imitation and give Admins and Moderators an easier way of banning spammers and abusers. We will try to implement this as quickly as possible, hopefully before the next maintenance.
Thank you for using the shoutbox, and we're glad it's been useful during maintenance.

We've added a nifty little shoutbox for you guys to use during maintenance hours when you're waiting for those lights to go green!
Each language we support have their own shoutbox. We will soon be adding translations for each language.
English
German
French
Russian

As a response to a high number of emails from visitors, we would like to point out that the 'System Error' that you encountered in Aion has nothing to do with the status of the servers - i.e. whether it was online or offline.
